Humming Duct is a site-responsive sound installation consisting of four sets of handmade contact microphones and amplifiers attached to different spots of the gallery ventilation system, picking up and amplifying the sound within the infrastructure structure in real time. The installation is a subtle gesture in exploring the performative potentials of the building and suggesting the gallery space itself as an art piece to experience. Humming Duct was active with three performances that further explore the musicality and the situational transformation of the space.
